Kinesis introduces “complete” bike at affordable price point

Kinesis UK has announced the G2, a versatile new build launching in October.

Available in four sizes, the G2 is the third model in the Kinesis Adventure category, and is priced to be more affordable than the Tripster AT and ATR.

Boasting much of the same DNA as its counterparts, the new build possesses SRAM’s Rival Hydraulic group and Schwalbe’s G-One 40mm tyres.

The G2 is said to be practical for all seasons and adventures with full rack and guard mounts. The frame has clearance for 700x40c tyres (38c with guards). For more comfort and control, a flared handlebar and a shorter stem are standard.

According to Kinesis, the G2 geometry has nimbler road characteristics than the Tripster AT to offer faster handling for road/gravel commutes, winter road riding or even the odd privateer cyclocross race.

“We have refined and evolved the geometry from our Tripster and ‘Cross bike range,” said a company statement. The head tubes are slightly shorter than the AT for a better road and cross position. The chainstays are shorter for punchier power delivery. We have also listened carefully to feedback regarding the smaller sizes.”

The size refresh means that the smallest model now has a semi-sloping top tube, added to bring the small’s comfort in line with the large models.
