Let there be light for the GoPro, and lo there was light.

Knog creates high-powered light for action cams

Knog is to release a high-powered action video light designed for the Go-Pro.

The [qudos] action cam light (the brackets are part of the product name) hooks up with the GoPro 2 and Hero3/Hero3+ or any action camera with GoPro conversion mounts.

The light delivers 400 lumens from three Cree LEDs and weighs 150 grams. It has multiple modes to adjust brightness and light speed, allowing users to control their shots.

Knog’s founder and CEO Hugo Davidson said: “GoPro, Sony, Garmin and others have made action film-making available to everyone. But it’s still hard to get good footage in the dark. We want to highlight those people who do crazy, adventurous, interesting things at night. Hence the name – we want to give people the kudos they deserve.”

The [qudos] works under water, too, so should be fine in deluges. It features a sealed rear battery door, marine grade aluminium heat sink and faceplate. Available in black or silver to match the Go-Pro, the [qudos] will be available from late August for about £89.99 (UPDATED).
