Netherlands-based bike brand grabs two prizes from the respected iF brand

Koga wins two iF Design Awards

The new Koga SuperMetro and E-Tour bikes have been praised by the iF Product Design Awards 2012.

The bikes, both of which have yet to reach retail, won in the ‘Leisure and Lifestyle’ category.

The SuperMetro is a ‘trendy naked bike’ available from November 2011. Targeting urban dwellers, the SuperMetro has a clean, understated design in matt black with red components.

The E-Tour, available March 2012 from Koga, has an ‘almost invisible’ compact battery, located in the down tube and easily removed for charging. The firm said its design makes it not directly recognisable as an e-bike, with a perfect centre of gravity.

The iF Product Design Award’s history spans almost six decades. This latest edition saw 4,322 products from 48 countries, judged on design quality, finish, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental impact, functionality and ergonomics, among other criteria.
