Kona releases Electric Ute

Kona has partnered with Bosch to add pedal-assisted power to its Ute bike, creating what the company has said is ‘a pretty excellent substitute for the automobile’.

The Electric Ute has a Bosch Performance Line motor, Kona cargo bags, and a rack that can ‘carry some serious weight’, according to Kona.

The bike is made from Kona 6061 aluminium butted frame and the wheels are WTB ST i23 27.5 inch TCS rims.

It also has a Kona Project Two rigid fork with 15mm thru-axle and FSA e-bike cranks.

The drivetrain is Shimano Acera/Deore Shadow 9spd and the brakes are Tektro HDM285 with 180mm front/160mm rear rotor.

The seat post is Kona Commuter, the cockpit is Kona Handplant Bar, Kona Road stem with Velo Ergo Grip, and the saddle is Velo Plush.

Both front and rear tyres are WTB Horizon Comp 650 x 47 with reflective hotpatches.

The bike has a Bosch 500w Powerpack battery with Abus Plus battery lock, Bosch Intuvia display, fenders, Busch and Müller lights and a Ursus Jumbo 80 kickstand.
