During February long-running BMX race scene journal Twenty24 relaunched as an A4 publication and is now seeking a broader reach that prior trackside coverage.
Publisher Johnathan Hearn says that retail channels and race clubs should get in touch if they'd like copies. He told BikeBiz: "The first issue in the new format came out early February 2011. We are working on issue two now and this will be available at the opening rounds of the British Cycling BMX National Series on April 30th/May 1st 2011."
With a website under construction, the magazine will also be published online.
"I am very keen to build up this network of stockists through through clubs and retailers as I believe that the most impressionable people in the sport are the grass roots - I want them to pick up the magazine and be lost in the pictures and articles and when theyre not reading, theyre riding! Thats how the BMX racing got a hold of me back in 1982/83," added Hearn.
When originally launched in 2003, Twenty 24 was backed by the BMX Comission and British Cycling in its A5 'zine' form.
Hearn said of the relaunch: "The first issue came out early February 2011 and has been really well received throughout the race community here in the UK, France and America. Its early days but I believe we have built strong foundations to grow and expand the magazine."
