Castelli creates custom jersey for UK sportive

Castelli has teamed up with the Chiltern 100 Cycling Festival to create a limited edition 2018 event jersey.

The UK-based Chiltern 100 Cycling Festival sportive event and vintage cycling festival takes place in Penn House, Amersham, on 15th July.

Combining vintage stripes and bold block colours, the jersey takes inspiration from cycling’s past. The side panels include graphic detail that is a nod to the Pavé Stage of Le Tour de France, which takes place on the same day as the sportive.

The jersey design had input from Oliver Knight, author of The Cycling Jersey: Craftsmanship, Speed & Style, who has heralded the end result as “the perfect blend of vintage and modern cycling". Knight will be at the Chiltern 100 Cycling Festival along with his collection of iconic vintage cycling jerseys dating back to the 1940s.

Darren Gumm, Castelli Servizio Corse designer, said: “This jersey is designed with our sportive riders in mind. It’s stylish and comfortable, with a subtle connection to the event and to the history of cycling. It’s a strong addition to your summer cycling collection.”

After the ride, cyclists can view live coverage of Stage 9 of Le Tour de France on the giant outdoor screen.
