Print run upped to 40,000 for 180-page, DVD covermount issue

Factory Media looking to break records with ‘Ride to Glory’ issue

Factory Media is looking to break records with the publication of its fifth Ride to Glory issue, upping the covermount issue’s print run to over 40,000 copies.

Ride to Glory is held annually, this year pitting six BMX teams against each other with a set of challenges to be ticked off during a week long road trip. Each team films their experiences on the road and the resulting six edits will be compiled on a DVD, set to be included free with the August issue. The magazine will also carry confectionary from sponsors Maoam.

James Carter, director of the bike market at Factory Media said, “Last year’s promotion caused a sales spike of more than 100 per cent on the issue and we again plan to push the boundaries on this issue. We have a print run planned of well over 40,000 copies which will see expansion across all areas of the newsstand, and significant up-weighting in grocery outlets including Tesco, Morrison’s, Asda, Sainsbury’s and the Co-Op. As with our BMX Basics magazine, we see this as a great opportunity to bring newer consumers who have yet to make brand choices into the core of the market.”
