Globe Cycle goes online ahead of 18,000-mile bike trip

Globe-trotting world-record breaking charity project hits the road in March

mypictr_230x200.jpg has gone online ahead of James Bowthorpe’s record-breaking cycling attempt at the end of March.

Bowthorpe’s project, Globe Cycle, aims to raise 1.8 million for research into Parkinson’s Disease while also attempting to break the world record for cycling around the world by three weeks. Bowthorpe aims to complete the task in 150 days (plus rest days), cycling 120 miles per day and covering 18,000 miles. features a blog, details of the route and donation information.

The journey is set to start in London on March 29th, passing into Europe, into Asia through Istanbul, crossing Iran, Pakistan and India. Bowthorpe will then cycle through Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, followed by over 4000 miles spent in Australia and New Zealand. The journey will end through Canada, the USA, Portugal and finally back to London.
