Herne Hill Velodrome welcomes support from dhb apparel

Sports apparel brand dhb is set to partner with London-based Herne Hill Velodrome cycling venue that hosted track cycling events for the 1948 Olympic Games.

Through a number of planned initiatives, the three-year partnership will aim to support cyclist’s love of the sport and raise awareness of both dhb and Herne Hill Velodrome within the cycling community and beyond.

The collaboration will see dhb provide coaching staff with dhb apparel. As part of the brand’s testing programme, the Velodrome will become a testing ground for new dhb product, giving its members and participants the opportunity to provide input into future collections of dhb apparel,.

In addition to on-track branding, dhb will become the named sponsor of the venue’s Monday and Thursday night training sessions.

At 126 years old, Herne Hill Velodrome has rich history in British cycling. Sir Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton are amongst a host of big names to have raced there. The track recently underwent redevelopment with the construction of a new pavilion that has ensured the continued success of the treasured track.

Simon Price, a trustee at Herne Hill Velodrome Trust, said: “We’re delighted to welcome dhb into the Herne Hill family. We believe that dhb shares the same philosophy towards cycling as us, which centres on advocating the joy of cycling. We’re confident that this partnership will enable Herne Hill Velodrome to continue to thrive in the coming years.

“2018 marks the 70th anniversary since the venue was used in the 1948 Olympic Games and next summer will see us host the Herne Hill Revival Festival so we’re looking forward to dhb being part of these celebrations.”
