West Yorkshire Combined Authority have teamed up with local cycling based social action project Barnardo's Bikes to create a new initiative for young people residing in the countryside town of Keighley.

The team behind the initiative aim to give help to those who are either seeking a job, or those who have found a job but have no access to transport in the form of reconditioned bikes and bike accessories.

James Day of Bernardo's Bikes commented:“Barnardo's is really pleased to be working with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority on this valuable resource. As we work with teenagers who are NEET (Not in Education Employment or Training) to refurbish the bikes, this project will be doubly helpful to unemployed young people in Keighley.”

Also backing the scheme are organisations JobCentre Plus, Connexions and local organisation Project 6.
