Following the departure of Sim Mainey to Orange Bikes of Halifax, Singletrack has recruited a new art director – Jorji Frederiksen.

Frederiksen's first issue 'in charge of colouring in' will be issue 83 due out on July 18th.

Publisher Mark Alker told BikeBiz: "Jorji's background in marine biology and her time as a scallop shucker of the Australian coast made her the ideal choice for designing the UK's finest mountain bike mag. (Is there anyone in the bike industry actually officially 'qualified' in what they do?)."

Frederiksen can be contacted at jorgi@singletrackworld.com

Occasional Singletrack columnist and long-time freelance bike test ringmaster Steve Worland has taken on the task of producing Singletrack's in-mag bike group tests starting from the next issue.

Worland said: "It's good to be back working with a small team of committed enthusiasts and it provides a great balance with my current blacktop testing for road.cc. The test I'm working on for the next issue includes bikes at £500, £1700 and £3600... and yes, there is a common theme... and early 2014 season samples are already on their way." Steve has tested over 2,000 bikes in his 20 year magazine career.

In yet more people news from Singletrack, longstanding online editor Jon Woodhouse has moved south to work for Future Publishing. Taking his place is another name regularly listed in Singletrack's 'thanks to..' section of each issue since it all began – Dave Anderson – now officially our new Online Editor.

Alker picks up the tale: "Dave has been a familiar, unofficial name in the bike industry for over a decade and has contributed his extensive knowledge and skills in the form of travel features, press launches and reviews. Previous Singletrack business cards listed his job title as 'Director of Flowery Wank'. He's now grateful for his more family friendly job title of 'Online Editor'. Dave also heads up our blagging department, a skill he has honed over many years, and he's the guy to talk to if you want your product featured in the mag or online."

Anderson can be contacted at dave@singletrackworld.com

Alker also handed BikeBiz a statistical update for Singletrack, now with 6,467 subscribers and magazine distribution of 13k per issue. The website's unique users tally is up to 1.15 million/month, with page impressions at 9 million/month. Finally, Singletrack's office coffee bean bill last month hit an all-time high of £95.48.
