Tass Whitby joins Road.cc editorial team

Former Cycling Plus production editor has jumped ship and gone digital
Publish date:

Tass Whitby has joined road.cc as their new 'Production Supremo' and editor of Cyclescheme's bi-annual Cycle Commuter magazine.

Joining from Cycling Plus, where she worked in production for nine years, Whitby's remit will be casting a meticulous eye over road.cc’s news and reviews, eliminating typos, grammatical errors and erroneous apostrophes.

Speaking about Tass’s appointment, road.cc editor Tony Farrelly said:

“Our recruitment strategy has always been to hire the best people in the field and Tass has an unrivalled reputation amongst the bike journos who’ve worked with her for her organisational ability, eye for detail, and grace under pressure - a priceless combination of qualities in any publishing environment.”

Whitby’s appointment, says Farrelly, is a further demonstration of the Bath-based publisher’s commitment to producing top quality content and in particular represents a further investment in the reviews side of their online output.

“road.cc already sets the benchmarks for cycling product reviews. We are now looking to significantly increase the amount of reviews we produce but we don’t want to sacrifice quality - that’s where Tass comes in. Her remit is to ensure that all our reviews meet the stringent quality thresholds we set our reviewers and to drive standards still higher.”

Though the bulk of her work will now be digital-based, she won’t be leaving the world of print entirely. F-At (Road.cc's publisher) has also named her as the new editor of Cyclescheme’s Cycle Commuter magazine, where she'll work alongside Dan Joyce (Consulting Editor) and is tasked with continuing to ensure it hits the mark with its audience.

Whitby also previously worked as Production Editor on Mountain Biking UK, and Deputy Editor on MTB Pro (this later became Mountain Bike Pro and then Mountain Bike World).
