There is an excellent fit between Accell and Raleigh, culturally and operationally, reads a statement from Raleigh Cycle Group on yesterday’s news that the Dutch group is in talks to buy Raleigh.

Here’s the statement in full:
“You may have seen the press this morning in relation to Accell’s interest in acquiring the Raleigh Cycle Group. Whilst I can confirm that we are in exclusive discussions with Accell, I should also point out that these discussions are at a very early stage. No contract has been agreed and Accell is just at the start of its formal information gathering exercise on Raleigh.
“There is therefore no guarantee that these talks will lead to an acquisition of the business by Accell.
“There is, however, an excellent fit between the two businesses, both culturally and operationally. The Raleigh Group Board is very supportive of Accell’s approach and is working closely with the Accell directors to progress a possible transaction. We will keep you posted as matters progress."
