Cycling Weekly has issued an appeal for shops and consumers to be on the look-out for 27 bikes stolen in a planned and professional raid in Blyth, near Worksop, Nottinghamshire. High-end kit was also stolen. All of the materials were due to be photographed for the magazine's Editor's Choice awards.
The theft from three vans occurred between the evening of Thursday, November 23rd and morning of Friday, November 24th at the Cherry Park Hall hotel. Items stolen include wheelsets, groupsets, clothing, tyres, helmets, shoes and tools. A full list of stolen items can be found below.
Several of the bikes were locked together, but were still taken, reports the magazine.
Cycling Weekly's technical editor Symon Lewis said: “It came as a huge shock to have such a vast amount of kit taken so quickly. I’m just devastated that the effort of, not only the Cycling Weekly team, but that of the companies who supplied us the products, has been wasted.
“We are hoping, as the cargo is pretty unique, that we can recover much of what has been lost – if anyone does see any of the bikes on the list or sees a bike for sale for a silly price or something, please contact the police or us directly.”
Anyone with information should telephone police on 101.
