Sports company jumped at tube strike opportunity with installation of temp bike parking

Limelight Sports assist troubled travellers

Limelight Sports took full advantage of the recent tube strikes by staging four temporary bike parks accross the capital.

Limelight project managed the installation of the four bike parks that were housed at Trafalgar Square, The Mall, Potters Field and Waterloo Bus Garage. Each bike park was required to hold 150 bikes and be accessible throughout the tube strike from 21:00 on Tuesday 9th June to 22:00 on Thursday 11th June.

Limelight’s project team drew on their knowledge of delivering cycling events, including Bike Week, Sky Sports London Freewheel for the GLA and Palace to Palace Bike Ride for The Prince’s Trust to design and install the parks.

Each bike park was constructed using lightweight barriers and heras fencing to provide a secure compound for cyclists to store their bikes. As well as installing and dismantling the parks, Limelight was responsible for on-site management, production of site plans, risk assessments, functional signage and security at Trafalgar Square Bike Park.
