London 2012 Road Cycling tickets go on sale tomorrow

Tickets for prime spots from which to watch the London 2012 road cycling events are set to go on sale tomorrow (Tuesday May 29th) at 11am.

While tickets are not required for large stretches of the race, areas including Box Hill in the North Downs, Surrey and Hampton Court Palace will be key locations from which to watch the men’s and women’s road races (Box Hill) and the men’s and women’s Time Trials (Hampton Court).

Box Hill spectators have a choice of two viewing areas (Donkey Green and Dormouse Drive), with the same true of spectators at Hampton Court Palace (at the West Front of the Palace and Hampton Court Road). Both areas offer big screens and commentary.

LOCOG (London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games) said: "This event is expected to see the streets of London and Surrey packed with millions of passionate fans. The Road Race route has many excellent vantage points close to some stunning and unique attractions. As it’s an outdoor event, spectators are advised to come prepared for all types of weather conditions."

Full price tickets range from £10 – £15 while tickets for young people and seniors are priced at £5. Tickets will be available at www.tickets.london2012.com on a first come, first served basis.

Spectators are urged to walk, cycle or use public transport to the event, due to road closures, parking suspensions and vast numbers of spectators.

LOCOG has further information for spectators at the official London 2012 site.
