Forty-two day application period opens

London 2012 tickets on sale today

Tickets for the London 2012 Olympics have gone on sale today.

People are able to apply any time during the 42-day application period online or using a paper application form in the official ticketing guide, available from Lloyds TSB branches, Bank of Scotland in Scotland, and public libraries in Northern Ireland. Tickets will not be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Non UK residents can apply too, via their National Olympic Committee or Authorised Ticket Reseller.

Prices for tickets start at £20, while top tickets for sought after events rise to as much as £2,012.
