Lumos to debut MIPS version of flagship helmet

Lumos will be releasing a MIPS version of its flagship smart-helmet for pre-order.

The MIPS technology protects cyclists from the rotational force that comes from angled impacts.

The brand has confirmed that the design aesthetic of the helmet will largely stay the same, with identical integrated front and rear lights, turn signals, and hard brake indicators – created to make cyclists more visible to drivers on the road.

“Our helmet was built on the idea that prevention is the best protection, which is why we emphasized on visibility in our design,” said co-founder and CEO Eu-wen Ding. “But of course we want to protect people’s heads in case of accidents too! MIPS is technology that has been developed since 1996 and is something that some of our users have requested. We hope that this makes our helmets one step closer to our mission in protecting 1 million heads.”
