Ken Foster's Cycles to celebrate Chorlton community

Manchester bike shop to host local art event

Local bike shop Ken Foster’s Cycle Logic is hosting a unique art event this weekend, designed to celebrate the store’s community in Chorlton-cum-Hardy.

The event will feature work from six artists and will be officially opened by Lord Bradley of Withington, with MP Jeff Smith also in attendance. Local historian Andrew Simpson will be on hand to provide stories about the Chorlton-cum-Hardy community.

The centre piece of the exhibition will be a 6.6metre x 2.6metre blow up of a panoramic painting of Chorlton Cross by local artist Peter Topping. Artists displaying their work in the bike shop will include: Christine Evans, Gwyn Jones, Graham Nicholson, Susan Parry, Stephen Raw and Peter Topping.

The event runs on Saturday Feb 27th from 10.30am to 5pm (the official launch will take place at 11.30 on Saturday), and Sunday Feb 28th from 11am to 4pm.
