Matrix Fitness-Prendas partners Cycle Systems Academy for 2012 racing season

Matrix Fitness–Prendas has partnered with the Cycle Systems Academy for the 2012 season, which will allow Academy graduate Alix Howard to take on the mantle of team mechanic for key events.

Both firms believe Howard’s post is an important step forward for females involved in the industry, opening the door for other aspiring women.

Stefan Wyman, team manager, said: "We’re really pleased to be partnering with Cycle Systems Academy. Not only does it ensure we have a top class mechanic in our setup, it also gives us the opportunity to introduce a female mechanic to the UK women’s racing scene.

"It’s a great step forward for the team and for the sport, and offers Alix a fantastic opportunity to gain on-the-road experience."

Howard will debut with the Matrix Fitness–Prendas squad at the official team launch in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday, March 10th.

Speaking her new position, Howard, said: "I am so thankful for this opportunity. I’m really looking forward to learning from the team, Velocite and also Vankru who are providing the team with bike fitting services this year.”
