McGuane replaces Ricciardi as Cannondale’s Euro boss

The appointment takes force on July 1st.

Current president Fulvio Ricciardi is leaving the company to "pursue other interests." said a statement from Cannondale. A replacement for McGuane as president of Cannondale Japan will be named shortly.

McGuane has been with Cannondale for 10 years, joining the Connecticut-based bike maker in January, 1994 as a credit manager before being promoted to Midwestern sales rep. McGuane was later promoted to regional sales manager and subsequently to president of Cannondale Japan, a position he has held for the past five years.

“This is a well-deserved promotion for Jeff,” said Matt Mannelly, president of the Cannondale brand.

“As president of Cannondale Japan, which oversees both the Japanese and Australian markets, Jeff has had great success. This year alone, Jeff’s understanding of the global bicycle industry and the Cannondale brand, plus his ability to work closely with our retailers, has helped Cannondale Japan achieve double-digit growth in a challenging retail environment.

"The European market is extremely important for us, and we know Jeff’s international experience and vision will make him a great leader for our employees at Cannondale Europe, and a valuable partner to our European dealers.”

McGuane said he relished the chance to head Cannondale’s European operations:

“The people at Cannondale Europe have done a tremendous job, and it really is an honour to be joining such an accomplished team."
