Met now exports into 50 territories, including the US; it's appearing at the NEC Cycle Show for the first time this year

Met: ‘Cyclists are becoming more fashion conscious’

Italian helmet brand Met says the nation’s two wheeled riders are becoming keener on fashionable designs, boosting sales of its design-orientated products.

The firm also said it has recently begun to sell into the US and now exports into 50 territories.

Met’s new helmet launches include the aero Rivale and Manta. Both appeared at the Tour de France and the halls of Friedrichshafen. The dealer direct brand is following up its appearance at Eurobike with a showing at the NEC-set Cycle Show, where it is making its debut.

“We are seeing that cyclists are becoming more conscious, not just of safety, but also of fashionable colour designs,” Met’s Jo McAleer told BikeBiz. “We believe that this has been a strength of our collections for MET and Bluegrass in that we’ve got a wide selection of trend-leading graphical designs that are balanced well with some neutral graphical designs.

“With the new range for MY16, we’ll be pushing the boundaries even further on graphical design within the main catalogue but also with limited edition designs.”

Both the Rivale (ÂŁ110) and Manta (ÂŁ170) were developed with Team MTN Qhubeka p/b Samsung.
