Montague introduces folding M-E1

Montague Bikes has introduced the M-E1, a “performance trekking e-bike that folds in seconds with a single quick release”.

It comes equipped with a Shimano STEPS E6100 mid-drive motor and a 36V / 418Wh lithium battery pack provides up to 80 kilometres of pedal assist on a single charge. The system is paired with a Shimano Deore drivetrain and an SR Suntour NEX suspension fork.

The aluminium frame features an integrated rear rack to provide cargo capacity and e-bike specific Schwalbe Energizer Plus tyres provide “maximum durability, low rolling resistance and superior grip”.

“We set out to build an e-bike for the urban environment – for riders that have been deterred from owning an e-bike due to space constraints, concerns about security, and a lack of portability with the current designs,” said David Montague, president and founder of Montague Bikes.

“The urban mobility market is growing quickly in today’s crowded cities, and commuters are looking for options. Riders need an e-bike that can deliver top-tier performance and stow in the closet, train, or car trunk. The foldable M-E1 is the solution.”

The Montague M-E1 is introduced as part of the company’s complete line of high performance folding bikes which includes 700c road/urban models and 26in/27.5in mountain models.

Montague will be exhibiting at Eurobike 2019, A2-308, taking place from 4th to 7th September in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
