New patent pending, maintenance and lubrication free system in the works

More BB evolution via KHE

KHE are testing a new BB-cup which features a patent pending AFFIX bush system and the proven quality of Igus bush bearings.

The bush bearings, named Iglidur are principally used on permanently running applications at high temperatures. Each of them can sustain more than three tons of pressure.

The system is compact and weighs next to nothing, compared to standard BB-cups. Due to extremely low friction levels, the bearings will have a high wear resistance, not to mention immunity to high temperature, humidity and chemicals.

It is claimed that the BB-cup will be maintenance and lubricant free. One alloy cup including the Iglidur bush bearing weighs only 36g / 0.079lbs. Compared to a regular MidBB (including spacers), the AFFIX bush system saves 120g/ 0.265lbs.

KHE plan to offer the AFFIX bush system for Mid BB, Spanish BB and Euro BB sizes.
