New IBD-only online service bikeZaar to partner with Tandem Group Cycles

Tandem Group Cycles has teamed with a new global online cycling retail store service which launches next month, called bikeZaar.

The site, which allows independent bike dealers to list product stock and complete orders directly through the service, will also list Tandem Group Cycles’ entire warehouse inventory, increasing the breadth and volume of products to sell, whilst increasing choice and availability for customers who can select from the entire range, including all sizes and colours.

Sales director at Tandem Group Cycles Julie Hayward commented: “Tandem Group Cycles, whose brands include Dawes, Claud Butler, British Eagle and Squish, has partnered with bikeZaar to create a brand new sales opportunity for independent bike retailers.

“Tandem Group Cycles believes that bikeZaar is what the industry has been waiting for; a level playing field, helping independents to compete for a share of the growing online market. We are continuously looking at options to help support independent retailers and through bikeZaar we can help to extend their market reach and customer base. This will, in turn, lead to more customers through their doors, which creates even more incremental sales opportunities,” she concluded.

Tandem Group Cycles will not supply any customers directly; all orders, even where the stock is located in Tandem Group Cycles’ warehouse, will be fulfilled by IBDs.

Kevin Griffiths, bikeZaar CEO, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Tandem Group Cycles who have embraced the opportunity to support their dealers. Working with brands and distributors as well as retailers enables us to offer customers even greater benefits than when shopping with online-only retailers, with the advantage of being able to support rider needs for physical service, advice and expertise through a huge network of independently owned bike shops.”
