The new Franco-German pairing take the place of retiring vice-president and
President ad interim Pietro Bosell of Italy.
Blome, 37, is the CEO of SKS Germany, the family-owned manufacturing company, producing pumps, mudguards and dirtboards. The SKS-group has a turnover of 72 million Euros and employs 800+ people.
Marchand, 45, is MD of Basta Group France, the group owned by the Dutch Axa-Stenman Industries and producer of lighting equipment and locks. Basta Group has a turnover of 27 million Euros and employs 200 people.
Blome and Marchand wish to express the objective of defending the common interests of the European two-wheeler parts & accessories Industries in a new strategy.
The incoming officers are both said to feel that focusing on protectionist actions alone is not the answer to the industrys needs.
A common development programme that is supported by promotion can offer better
protection for our industry, said Blome.
Marchand said: A great tool to move forward is innovation. We will be looking for ways to encourage this."
