The European P&A trade organisation has voted in Willo Blome of Germany as its new president, and Pascal Marchand of France as vice president

New president and VP for COLIPED

The new Franco-German pairing take the place of retiring vice-president and

President ad interim Pietro Bosell of Italy.

Blome, 37, is the CEO of SKS Germany, the family-owned manufacturing company, producing pumps, mudguards and dirtboards. The SKS-group has a turnover of 72 million Euros and employs 800+ people.

Marchand, 45, is MD of Basta Group France, the group owned by the Dutch Axa-Stenman Industries and producer of lighting equipment and locks. Basta Group has a turnover of 27 million Euros and employs 200 people.

Blome and Marchand wish to express the objective of ‘defending the common interests of the European two-wheeler parts & accessories’ Industries’ in a new strategy.

The incoming officers are both said to feel that focusing on protectionist actions alone is not the answer to the industryÂ’s needs.

“A common development programme that is supported by promotion can offer better

protection for our industry,” said Blome.

Marchand said: “A great tool to move forward is innovation. We will be looking for ways to encourage this."
