The Department for Exiting the EU has today released a list of 58 industry sectors for which it has done Brexit impact studies – the bike industry doesn’t make the cut. DEXEU has so far refused to publish the impact studies.
The 58 sectors – including aerospace, aeromotive and broadcasting – account for 88 percent of the economy, says the Government. Retail is one of the sectors studied, but not individual retail sectors.
Member of the Exiting the EU select committee Seema Malhotra, a Labour MP, claimed that David Davis’ refusal to publish the impact studies was "about keeping parliament and the public in the dark."
She added: "Industry must have confidence that their concerns are understood and being responded to. Business needs clarity and certainty."
