BikeBiz December print magazine now online

The December BikeBiz print edition is now available to read online or download in pdf form here. If you’ve an iPad you may also download the BikeBiz magazine app from iTunes here

Our final issue of 2012 is mailed to subscribers with a special Christmas present in the form of the 2013 BikeBiz Bible directory – which this year compiles nearly 3,000 cycling businesses across retailer, manufacturing, distribution, media and more. The Bible also contains columns from industry names including Phil Cavell, Elliot Gluskin, Mark Bickerton, Alf Webb and George Bowie.

Within the print magazine you’ll find our early guide to the exhibitors at January’s Core Bike trade show, which is now open to trade registration.

Furthermore you’ll find the results from BikeBiz’s recent retail survey in which 99 independent bike retailers gave their feedback on everything from financial fortunes to the impact of Lance Armstrong’s downfall. Participating in the survey provided two lucky retailers with signed British Cycling goods – these were Sunset Cycles in Cardiff, who scooped a signed Chris Hoy jersey and Halifax’s Cycle Gear, the winner of two autographed photos.

Mystery Shopper is this month found pounding the streets of Leicester. Is your store one of those visited and reviewed on page 22?

On page 9, we’ve an interesting insight into Decathlon’s masterplan for the UK, which could see them playing catch up with the likes of Halfords sooner rather than later.

Carlton Reid interviewed Giant Bikes CEO Tony Lo on page 12 on a recent visit to the Taiwan HQ.

Continuing the Taiwan theme, the following pages offer a preview of the Taipei Cycle Show, with comment from TIATRA on their expectations of the exhibition.

On 16 and 17 BikeBiz reviews the big stories from 2012 in what has been a landmark year for the business and cycling in general. This is followed by an ‘industry opinions’ article asking the trade’s thoughts on the past 12 months and the near future.

There’s plenty more editorial content too, with features on Citrus Lime, Cycling Made Easy, an interview with British Triathlon and Bristol’s Triathlon Shop, a GfK analysis of the retail landscape and much more.

Enjoy.
