Distributor is taking more space following turnover growth

MDI expanding Blackpool HQ in time for the New Year

Following what it says has been a strong year, Mike Dixon Imports (MDI) is expanding at its HQ at Blackpool.

Over the winter months, in preparation for the New Year, MDI is adding three new offices at its current location and adding 3,000 sq ft in floor space making the premises a total of 15,000 sq ft.

According to the firm, it’s been a good year with turnover up over 20 per cent and net profit remaining the same.

MDI told BikeBiz: "We feel the reason for growth is down to committing more stock with our official key brands and being able to be competitive with other suppliers on price, while still offering the same excellent service."

The expansion is due to be complete by mid-December. Following MDI’s stock take between Christmas and the New Year. The firm will be looking for more sales staff early 2016, BikeBiz was told.
