Moore Large in talks to revive American Classic

Taiwanese company American Classic announced the closure of their factory and warehouse last week, citing difficult market conditions and limited OE support.

However, speaking on behalf of their long-term UK distribution partner, Moore Large, director of IBD sales Dale Vanderplank said: “We received some news of their intentions very late last week but have since spoken with them to actively discuss ways the brand can maintain a presence in the market. You don’t reach a 35-year milestone without doing a lot of things right."

"Bill and Ellen have an unquestionable passion for the industry and their products have been at the forefront of rim and hub development for years. That remains the mainstay of their business and we feel fortunate to have enjoyed the benefits of that in the 10 years we’ve been working with them.

"Our immediate priority is to reassure our customers that until these discussions are concluded, its business as usual. We have good stocks of wheels across the range, with more arriving later this month and a complete offering of serviceable items available from our UK stock, ensuring we cover the full and complete term of any existing warranties. We will communicate further information directly with our customers, as and when the outcome of our conversations with them, becomes clearer."
