Gruppo Media renews focus on Rouleur's impressive growth in print and online

Privateer print title suspended from issue 18

Gruppo Media is to suspend the print publication of Privateer magazine, deciding to focus its resources solely on its road cycling portfolio.

Privateer magazine will cease its print issue following issue 18, due out on 15th November 2013.

Gruppo Media Limited’s managing director Bruce Sandell said: “I would like to thank all the Privateer staff, contributors, advertisers and subscribers, all who have shown great belief and support towards Privateer.

“Going forward our talented team and future investment will focus 100 per cent on Rouleur, continued marketing investment to grow subscription sales, the launch of its new website and expanding our online retail operation.” 

Rouleur has seen six years of unprecedented growth, increasing issue frequency from four to eight a year, plus generating a significant increases in sales via specialist bike shops, subscriptions and on the newsstand.

Next month Gruppo Media plan to launch the long-awaited new Rouleur website, in development for over six months to date.

Privateer will continue to be available online and in the Rouleur website shop. Back issues will continue to be on sale until they sell out.

Gruppo Media Limited’s editorial director Guy Andrews said: “I would personally like to thank all involved in Privateer, the contributors and staff at Gruppo who did their very best to make the title a success. Especially Andy Waterman, Tym Manley, George Marshall and Jonathan Bacon. What they provided was unique in the market — some exceptional work of which they should all be very proud.”
