Si Bradley's Twitter organised event draws over 40 riders to a rainy Coed-y-Brenin

Social media organised #MtbMeetUp raises £300 for Cyclist VS cancer

Simon Bradley’s Twitter organised #MTBMeetUp has raised over £300 for charity, with over 40 riders travelling to Coed-y-Brenin from as far as Somerset, Brighton, Portsmouth, the Midlands, the Peak District, Yorkshire, and the Lakes.

Often referred to as "the most bike industry person without an actual position in the bike industry", Bradley is well known on the social media platform, with many big brands following his efforts to co-ordinate the event unfold. As a result, Si enticed support from a number of cycling brands who provided everything from goodie bags, to tea and coffee, as well as a room at the trail centre.

Due to the overwhelming support and generosity it was decided to raffle off a number of gifts which helped to raise over £300 for the Cyclist vs Cancer Charity.

Despite the weather, the group of cyclists enjoyed either a circuit of the MBR or Beast trails and returned to copious amounts of home made cake that had been baked by partners of the riders.

Bradley said of the day: "The #MTBMeetup demonstrated the power of social media to bring like minded people together and arrange a great day out. Since the meet-up, there has been considerable interest in hosting another with more riders and sponsors getting involved. A story published about the event on SingletrackWorld has already amassed over 5,000 views. Chris’ online gallery has had over 20,000 photo views."

Bradley is interesting in hear from parties who would be keen to be involved in future events and is contactable on si.brad@sky.com, or via twitter handle at either @MTBMeetUpUk or @_si_bradley.
