Event will now include family-friendly rides

Northern Rock Cyclone grows to four days for 2012

The Northern Rock Cyclone is growing to accommodate a ride specifically for beginners and young families.

Taking place on the Thursday before the weekend, the Tyne Six Bridge Leisure Ride will feature two gentle routes of nine and 14.5 miles along the banks of the Tyne. Suitable for all ages, the rides will cost £6 for adults and children.

The North East set event runs from Thursday June 28th to Sunday July 1st 2012.

“We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the spirit of the Northern Rock Cyclone,” said event organiser Peter Harrison. “The new Tyne Six Bridges Leisure Ride is perfect for beginner cyclists and for young families so is a great way for everyone to get involved.”

The 2011 event saw more than 4,000 riders sign up for 33, 67 and 107-mile rides on the Saturday.
