nuun and Extra UK announce new UK distribution partnership

Seattle-based hydration brand nuun has announced an exclusive partnership with Extra to distribute its range of nuun Active, nuun Boost, Plus for nuun and nuun All Day products in the UK.

Andy Wellman, the VP of operations and international business development at nuun, said that “choosing Extra as [their] exclusive partner will enable nuun to develop further on the strong foundation already established within the UK for the brand.”

The electrolyte-enhanced drink tablets turn water into a balanced sports drink without the added sugars and plastic waste of traditional sports drinks. Aiming to promote clean living, nuun considers themselves to be a leader in electrolyte replacement drinks; both nuun Active and nuun Boost have been reformulated using all plant-based ingredients, including Stevia leaf extract and avocado oil. They also report improved product performance with the addition of non-GMO-sourced dextrose – the drink is now certified vegan, gluten free, soy and dairy free.

Extra Managing Director Steve Davey commented: “We are delighted to be working with nuun and company who repeatedly set the standards within the sports drink market, and we look forward to playing our part in their continued success within the UK.”

Product availability commences in August 2016, with details now on the Extra B2B site or through your area sales manager.
