Upstart label specialise in alloy road bikes

Obsydian Bikes seeks UK dealers

Upstart alloy road bike label Obsydian has announced that it will sell via retail and is now calling on dealers looking for a mid-level road brand to get in touch.

Priced at £550, the brand’s first frameset sports a carbon monocoque fork, ceramic headset and lightweight, tripple-butted alloy frame.

The "Invictus" frame should appeal to both the amateur and advanced road cyclist wanting a more discretely styled alloy bike. Extensive testing has found a safe rider weight limit of 110kg across all sizes from S-XL, with all Obsydian frames backed with a lifetime warranty.

At present, Obsydian are dealing with the public direct and tell BikeBiz that they "do not wish to water the brand down by hitting the big online stores." The label is however looking to discuss potential dealership possibilities, with those keen to showcase the product in their store.
