Hmm, Oregon. 4130 welding. That rings a bell. Could it be that the family-friendly, cooperative-to-the-core Burley has a BMX alter ego? Sort of.

Oregon BMX bike builder signs with Padded Cell

EBCo is a micro BMX brand that builds bombproof steel bikes. It’s run by BMXer Jeremy Murray, who also happens to be one of the cooperative members at Burley, the US recumbent/trailer/road bike company.

Burley wouldn’t cut it as a BMX brand-name, hence the EBCo name and the zero mentions of Burley on the EBCo website.

Anyway, UK distribution rights for EBCo’s BMX frames have gone to Padded Cell. And Padded’s Mark Malone has also added Elite Footwear and Clicked DVD magazine to his expanding empire.
