Businesses join forces for initiative to boost outdoor activity

Outdoor industry launches #ItsGreatOutThere

At the recent OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen, the European Outdoor Group (EOG) launched a #ItsGreatOutThere campaign.

In response to inactive lifestyles across that are affecting the outdoor trade and pushing healthcare systems closer to crisis, the EOG and other outdoor businesses have put rivalries aside to work together to promote outdoor participation to the general public, for the long term health of both our industry and the whole population.

While not explicity a campaign encouraging nations to take to their bicycles, it’s surely something the cycle trade can get behind.

The campaign includes prizes (worth over €20,000), social media picture and video competitions and a dedicated site at www.itsgreatoutthere.com

#ItsGreatOutThere runs between now and September culminating in a public vote to choose the best contributions, with an additional opportunity to win prizes, including an all-expenses paid outdoor experience for two.

The competitions build up to the first European Week of Sport from 7-13 September, during which ‘Outdoor’ will be one of four focus topics.
