A new internet TV channel for the UK has launched based around outdoor activities. Outdoors TV will deliver brand new programmes on a wide variety of outdoors subjects, from walking and climbing to biking and kayaking. Outdoors TV will also offer documentaries on ‘outdoors’ personalities, events, races and institutions, as well as profiles of adventure destinations and wilderness areas.
The channel is currently running in pre-launch mode, showing a selection of sample programmes designed to give a flavour of the style & content of programmes that will be shown following the full launch.
Outdoors TV is aimed squarely at the adult audience and aims to reflect the majority grass roots interest in the experience itself, rather than hyping any perceived ‘extreme’ elements. The channel’s output is wholly programme based (unlike the video clip format found on most websites) with short programmes and sections of longer programmes lasting between three to ten minutes.
To celebrate this announcement to the outdoors industry, the channel is holding a highly attractive promotion with 50 per cent off introductory prices for advertorial programmes, meaning a programme could be produced and aired from £750. The aim is to enable brands and organisations to gain a presence on the channel in time for Outdoors TV’s launch next spring.
