Generous attendees of the distributor show donated funds to the worthy cause set up by SRAM vice pres FK Day

Over £2,300 raised for World Bicycle Relief at Fisher’s Expo

Following Fisher Outdoor Leisure’s Expo house show in February, the distributor has totted up how much its visitors raised for chosen charity World Bicycle Relief.

Over £2,300 was raised for the charity, which was set up by Expo 2012 guest speaker and SRAM vice president F.K Day.

Working in Africa, the organisation aims to empower people to change their lives using bicycles. From young girls being able to ride to school to giving healthcare workers the means to visit more patients. Over 100,000 bicycles have now been distributed by the organisation.

The money was raised at Expo 2012 through sales of a custom jersey made by Santini and a raffle with prizes donated by sponsored athletes and suppliers.

The distributor said: "Fisher would like to thank Danny Hart, Wendy Houvenaghel, MET, TACX and AB Hotels for their generosity as well as all those who bought tickets. Winners included Velo Vitesse, Bicycle Workshop and Adventure Northumberland.

"The stylish Santini World Bicycle Jersey is still available, in a number of sizes, for customers to purchase through the Fisher B2B website or by speaking to the Fisher sales team. Priced at £40 all proceeds will go to WBR."

Donations from UK residents can now take advantage of gift aid by visiting the Virgin Money Giving page.
