From 1st September , Oxford plans to distribute its cycle product range exclusively through UK wholesalers. To oversee the move, Oxford appointed trade veteran Martin Sykes in June as cycle sales development manager.

Oxford Products’ cycle stuff to be available wholesale

"The wholesale network will be able to provide [IBDs] with a consistent service, with consistently competitive prices and the convenience of a wider product portfolio," said Sykes, latterly with ClarkÂ’s Cycle Systems, having previously worked for Sturmey Archer, Raleigh Parts Division, Belvin UK, and Two Wheel Trading.

Oxford Products has been trading for 32 years and has 550 IBD accounts.

Oxford MD Henry Rivers Fletcher said:

"Having dealt with a relatively small number of bicycle shops for many years, we now intend to broaden our distribution base to coincide with the development of our product portfolio. We cannot do this satisfactorily and provide the necessary level of service to our customers with our current sales team."

Oxford Products is looking to sign up with "all good UK wholesale distributors."
