Lab-Gear of Sydney, Australia, produces tech cycle clothing and sells gear via its website, including into the UK. Now a UK distributor is being sought.

Oz cycle clothing manufacturer wants UK distributor

UK representative Nick Heywood said:

“What we are trying to do is respond to the many requests our customers have been asking of us. Online purchases will still make up the bulk of worldwide sales. For UK customers however, the product has to make its way across to the other side of the world, which takes time.

"There are many benefits to be had when working with an established UK distributor, both from our side and that of the consumer, and we feel that now is the right time to pursue that.”

Lab-Gear clobber includes Merino wool base-layers and tights to full wet-weather outer shells as well as women-specific race jerseys and off-the-bike casual-wear. Fabrics used include Lab Tek AIR and CHILL, and iZwool and Polartex fabrics.

The company has been trading since 2001. All its cycle clothes are manufactured in Australia. Lab-Gear is also the Oz distributor of Dean titanium bicycles as well as Scary Fast products.

Lab-Gear sponsors various riders in Australia through the Lab-Gear/SRAM Grass Roots Program begun in conjunction with SRAM Australia earlier this year (covering XC and DH riders as well as triathletes and later in the year, BMX) and sponsors the Lab-Gear 12-hour Challenge, the best-attended 12 hour race in Australia.
