The hot rumour circulating wildly at the Taipei trade is wrong, says Giant's Tony Lo.

On Saturday the Vietnamese Bike Manufacturers' Association said it will assist five of its members fight the November 22nd complaint from the Canadian Bicycle Manufacturers' Association submitted to the Canadian International Trade Tribunal requesting that the Tribunal initiate a global safeguard inquiry into the importation of bicycles.

Shimano always does well in the annual International Forum Design awards and this year the Japanese company was joined by Italian, Canadian and German companies. Bicycle products were up against tarmac-rollers, MP3 players, trendy sunglasses and mobile phones.

International Forum Design of Hannover will be developing and organising the first Eurobike Award 2005 competition for the lakeside trade show in Friedrichshafen, September. The judges include Erik Zabel of Team T-Mobile, willy doc Professor Ingo Froböse and Shimano's Hans van Vliet

And not just for cycling, maybe even for child passengers in cars, too...
