It's been known for some time that the European Twowheel Retailers’ Association is opposed to the position of the European Bicycle Manufacturers' Association on bicycles imported from Vietnam but the organisation has now codified its opposition in an official presentation to the European Commission which is currently investigating 'dumping' complaints lodged by EBMA. If EBMA's complaint against Vietnam-produced bikes succeeds, prices for many key bike brands would increase overnight, argues ETRA.

Cycles Gaansari, a bike shop in Dayton, Ohio, the home town of Wilbur and Orville Wright, has partnered with Mercian Cycles of Derbyshire to produce the Gaansari Flyer, a lugged steel audax bike inspired by British and French framebuilders of the 1950s, '60s and '70s.

The Canadian brand was formerly distributed, on a limited scale, by IBD chain Alpine Bikes. The Marin importer and Whyte bikes originator is adding the brand to take it into the high-end jump bike, freeride, North Shore market, said ATB's Norco brand manager, Dave Hemming.
