Pearl Izumi brand store to open at Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth

Madison and Shimano will open a Pearl Izumi brand store in Portsmouth come November 1st.

The fifth of its kind in Europe, the 1,470 square foot store has recruited staff well versed in the brand’s key segments; Riding, Running and Triathlon.

Dominic Langan, CEO at Madison added: “Gunwharf Quays is heralded as the most progressive outlet mall in the UK and has a well-established sporting goods presence, making it the perfect location for our Pearl Izumi outlet store in the UK. Madison prides itself on delivering the highest level of customer support and this store opening underpins this ethos by supporting our Pearl Izumi specialist retailer network with effective and positive risk free stock handling.”

The outlet store will help build awareness of Pearl Izumi in the UK showcasing a wide range of clothing whilst offering support to the existing network of local specialist dealers with the possibility of end of season overstock return.

Gunwharf Quays has an excellent existing sporting goods footprint and is situated in the cycling heartland of the south. The outlet mall also has the highest dwell time for shoppers in the south of the UK, showing that people are engaged by the shopping experience on offer.

Lieven Muylaert, project manager Pearl Izumi factory stores added: “This is a great next step in the development of the brand recognition in Europe. Seeing the traffic during my visits at Gunwharf, we are confident that this is the right spot. Our store team will embrace every visitor as an opportunity to overwhelm them by the innovative and technical side of our products. ”
