John Owen has joined Max Bikes PR as an Account Manager.
Joining after a decade with Stan’s Cycles in Shrewsbury, Owen will be working on MTB accounts for the firm.
Owen said: "I have been on the race scene for many years, racing downhill as a junior and working my way through the ranks with various national wins. In 2013 I set my focus on the relatively new, however well established Enduro scene, where I am now competing at the Elite level and finishing most weekends racing in the top 5 on board my Pivot Mach6.
"After having spent an amazing ten years working at Stan’s Cycles in Shrewsbury, the time was right for me to venture a little deeper in to the cycle industry and really put to use the knowledge I have gained over my time spent in retail. I now find myself as a member of the Max Bike PR team and wish to carry through my enthusiasm and love for two wheels.
"My racing has always played a big part in my life and career and with a few race wins in Downhill and Enduro to my name, the trophies as well as being used to hang socks to dry on the mantelpiece, also give me great focus and allow me to see reward for hard work. I’m looking forward to becoming a familiar face in the industry and I hope to meet with everyone in the not too distant future.
Keith Jepson, Max Bikes PR Owner and Creative Director, added: "It’s brilliant to have John on board, he brings a wealth of experience with him for one so young. At 23, he has worked in the industry since he was 13 and has a vast amount of technical knowledge. John, will be working as Account Manager on MTB accounts, assisting brands with promotional activity, events, demos, development and of course riding with them."
