Nick Miller joins the board. Former Bauer publisher Steve Prentice becomes consultant editor

Rouleur founder and editor Guy Andrews stands down

Gruppo Media has today announced that Rouleur’s founder and editor guy Andrews is to stand down.

The publishing group has also announced two appointments, bringing in Nick Miller, a media investor and former chairman of VOS Media, who joins the Board. Steve Prentice, formerly with media giant Bauer as publisher and editor, becomes Rouleur consultant editor.

Having founded the title in 2006, Andrews has guided the title’s editorial direction, building a loyal following of typically affluent road cyclists. The publisher told BikeBiz back in March how Rouleur now has around 6,000 subscribers.

Guy Andrews said: "I’m leaving Rouleur in a solid position as the world’s most respected road cycling journal. I’ve been involved in this magazine for almost ten years and I have decided, after much deliberation, that it’s time for a change. I’d like to thank the team at Gruppo and all of the contributors, who have made Rouleur something really special.”

Managing director Bruce Sandell added: "We are sorry to see Guy move on and wish him every success. But we are delighted to have new talent and, with it, new investment. Rouleur is in great shape to capitalise on the continuing growth of our sport and to offer more opportunity to the people who have made this great magazine so successful. I look forward to the ongoing expansion and innovation of this original, unique concept in cycling media."

In other moves, advertising manager Andy Hill has been promoted to publisher, reflecting the success in his previous role. This move will put Andy at the heart of the business, working to further develop and strengthen relations with Gruppo Media’s partners in the cycle industry. He will continue to manage all advertising and promotions within the magazine.

Ian Cleverly will continue in his role as managing editor, reporting to Steve Prentice. Andy McGrath will continue as assistant editor of Rouleur Magazine, but will also formally take on editorship of Rouleur.cc to drive traffic growth from the recently refreshed website, which has seen unique users grow by 127 per cent (according to Google Analytics) in the last 12 months.

Rouleur will mark its 50th issue with the October publication.
