Production to remain at the Dutch Bicycle Group. May drop Halfords retail agreement

Pon Holdings acquires Union Bicycles

Pon Holdings has acquired the Union bike brand from the Dutch Bicycle Group, reports Bike Europe.

The latest in a string of takeovers by Pon, production is to remain with the Dutch Bicycle Group, while retail sales could be due a shake up with Pon said to be set to consider its position within Halfords in mainland Europe, seeing independent retail as the best route to market for the label going forwards.

"We want to take the brand to a higher level in quality. Also the product portfolio will be expanded in the coming years", spokesman Jacques Geijsen told Bike Europe.
