23 editors representing 34 magazines, newspapers and websites will be at PressCamp in Deer Valley Resort in June, an event with 24 brands, including Scott USA, Pedro’s, Dahon, Camelbak, Blue Competition Cycles, Gore Ride-On, Lazer Helmets and others.
As well as editors from US magazines Bicycling, Dirt Rag, and VeloNews, PressCamp is also flying in editors from overseas including many from the UK and one from New Zealand.
The UK mags and sites include BikeBiz, Cycling Plus, Mountain Biking UK, Procycling, Singletrack World, What Mountain Bike and BikeRadar.com. There will also be editors from Tweewieler/Bike Europe, and VeloVert. An editor from New Zealand Mountain Biker is the sole representative from the Antipodes.
PressCamp is also reaching out to what event organiser Lifeboat Events calls the non-endemic media, mainstream titles such as Los Angeles Times, Men’s Journal, Outside, Sports Illustrated, New York Times, USA Today and Wired.
A month after PressCamp, Lifeboat Events does it all again for America’s top bike shops. DealerCamp will run July 29th-31st in the same resort. 100 IBDs will be subsidised by exhibitors.
Lifeboat’s Lance Camisasca said:
"DealerCamp is providing a mid-summer opportunity for suppliers to show their new products to retailers. This is well timed with current product cycles and will allow manufacturers to get some momentum for their products in advance of the Fall trade shows. The exhibiting companies are pooling their resources and sharing an open house for retailers."
Exhibitors who sign up by March 31st may provide a list of targeted retailers.
"We will merge and purge the lists to come up with the list of 100 subsidised retailers," said Camisasca.
