Small pictures and projects is a young company with a line of largely cycle-based quirky gifts, from framed prints and greeting cards to mugs and notecards.

The company has been in business for about a year and started with some framed designs put together to raise money for a Women vs Cancer charity rider who had done a Kenya and Cuba trip.

Small pictures and projects co-founder Caroline Adamthwaite takes up the story: "It really took off around Valentine's day with our 'I love you slightly more than I love my bike' design, cyclists do really love their bikes!

"Since then we have expanded into a full Greetings card and Mug range. Because we design and print the artwork and cards in-house we tend to have a rolling design release, basically whenever inspiration strikes. We are planning to update the mug range twice a year."

The company, run by Adamthwaite and Michelle Brown, mainly has cycling-focused products, but it also strays into running, triathlon and quirky/rude general offerings too.

"Our ambition is to be known for quality, stylish gifts for cyclists and sports people generally. We like to focus on those people it is hard to buy gifts for and those that aren't really catered for at the moment - especially female cyclists - so we are planning an expansion of our gift range and into apparel in the future."

The firm doesn't currently sell through bike shops, but it is keen to expand in that area.

Adamthwaite added: "We are able and we really like producing customised designs. It's another advantage of doing most things in-house so we are open to working with individual customers or retailers to provide something special."
