And there are two new leather cycle bags - the Eton Satchel and Piccadilly Backpack

Brooks releases limited edition World Traveller saddle

Brooks England has launched the Brooks B17 Select World Traveller 2012 Limited Edition Saddle.

The leather surface uses a restyled drawing by Frank Patterson, artist and illustrator of the Brooks catalogues of the 1920s, realised by Richard Phipps. All saddles have been made using Brooks Select organic leather tops, fixed to a copper plated steel frame and finished with hand hammered copper rivets.

Brooks said the saddle "celebrates our deep historical associations with the sporting heroes of the previous London Olympiad, as well as our rich relationship with devotees of long distance touring during the inaugural WCR Grand Tour, a competitive circumnavigation of the Earth by bike.
"

Available from Brooks dealers, production has been capped at 2012 pieces.

The brand has also included two new leather models in its cycle bag range, including the Eton Satchel (pictured below) and the Piccadilly Backpack. The Eton is a redesign from a Brooks patent drawing dated 1910. Made from the same leather used for Brooks Saddles, the Eton features shoulder straps to wear as a rucksack and a handle for use as a briefcase.

Also made in Manchester, the Piccadilly is a versatile knapsack that, in Brooks’ words, ‘epitomises simple timeless elegance and the freedom associated with arriving under your own power and two wheels’. It can also be carried as a handbag.
